Hayao Miyazaki, founder of the famous Studio Ghibli animation company, is the focus of both subject and style in this two spot color brochure. To maximize the versatility of only two colors while also reinforcing Miyazaki's reoccurring theme of nature, I chose a complementary theme using two dark but saturated coated Pantones in earthy hues. His commonly incorporated theme of the dichotomy of life and death is portrayed by the active, outer side through the movement of circular and diagonal directional lines. Contrastingly, the inside is cool, calm, flat, and still.
