Shirt
As the chosen winner of a Greenville Technical College logo design challenge for promotional shirts, this Sailor Jerry tattoo style hot air balloon was actually screen printed and worn by students. The design was driven by two purposes: relay an uplifting call to action encouraging student enrollment and portray the school as young and modern without alienating older, continuing education students. Tattoos have become a common trend amongst young people, but the classic Sailor Jerry style has been around long enough to be recognizable by older generations. The school allowed three spot colors for the logo, so to maximize the design possibilities I created an alternate version for a black shirt, utilizing the fabric as a simulated fourth color.
